Your local Lake County DefCon group . The group is small now but better than nothing, and you don't need lots of people to get stuff done. Join the mailing list and introduce yourself and your ideas, interests, projects, comments, complaints etc. We also need to agree on a meeting location, which is a top priority (see mailing list).
Ideally I'd like to find a more or less permanent place where we could set up a lab for projects, experiments, etc. so people would not have to wait till next meeting to chat in person and do work. But that's a LONG way a way. I advocate free knowledge and that's where things will probably start: advice, help, tutorials and presentations. I need feedback and ideas!!! No comment will be thrown away.
We are one of 3 or 4 DCGs in the area so check out 312, 414, 773 as well as the LUGs and Ham groups.
